2021 Chinese Government Scholarship- Changchun University of Science and Technology - Optical Engineering Program

Program Categories, Duration and Language of Instruction 
1.This scholarship only supports graduate programs. 
2.This scholarship only supports programs which are relate to Optical Engineering (Specific information is available at http://www.campuschina.org/universities_art/index.html?key=6E26FD01C715E47C or http://sie.cust.edu.cn/ ) .
3.Language of Instruction is English or Chinese.
4.Scholarship duration is three to four years. The scholarship duration specified in the Admission Letter, covering major study and Chinese language study, cannot be extended in general.

Application Receiving Agency and Deadline 
Applicants should apply to Changchun University of Science and Technology via CSC Online Application System between 1st, January and 15th, April.  

Eligibility 
To be eligible, applicants must: 
-be a citizen of a country other than China, and be in good health; 
-not be a registered student in Chinese universities at the time of application; 
-be a bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for master’s programs; 
-be a master’s degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for doctoral programs. 

Application and Admission Procedure 
1. Applicants should understand the information about the majors that Changchun University of Science and Technology can accept. Please visit http://www.campuschina.org/universities_art/index.html?key=6E26FD01C715E47C or http://sie.cust.edu.cn/ for more information;
2. Applicants must sign up at CSC Online Application System for International Students. Please go to http://www.csc.edu.cn/studyinchina/ or www.campuschina.org and click Application Online for International Students, complete the required information, submit the completed Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship online and print a hard copy. (Application type: Type B; Agency number: 10186; take note when filling these.);
3. After the school reviews the application materials, qualified candidates will selected for examination. After the examination (written examination or interview), the nominated students will be determined. The list of the nominated students will be published on the website of School of International Education, Changchun University of Technology (http://sie.cust.edu.cn/);
4. After receiving the nomination notice, the nominated student will scan the signed Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship as a PDF file and send it to the Admission Office of the School of International Education.
5. The university will submit the nominated students to the China Scholarship Council(CSC) for review.
6. After the approval of China Scholarship Council(CSC), the university, Changchun University of Science and Technology will send the Admission Letter and Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW201) to the applicants that won the scholarship (before June 30th, subject to the actual time).

i. The admission process is long. so please be sure to fill in an email address where you can be reached when applying and wait patiently for the email notice.
ii. Please do not write to inquire about the progress as the receiver of your email will not reply because there are too many applicants.

Application Documents (Submitted Online) 
1. Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship（in Chinese or English）.  
2. Notarized highest diploma (photocopy): Prospective diploma winners must submit official proof of student status by their current school. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.  
3. Academic transcripts: Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.  
4. A Study Plan or Research Proposal in Chinese or English (minimum of 800 words). 
5. Two letters of recommendation in Chinese or English from professors or associate professors.  
6. A valid(in 6 months) copy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form designed by the Chinese quarantine authority can be downloaded on the website of the scholarship committee http://www.csc.edu.cn/laihua or http://www.campuschina.org and must be filled in English (the original copy should be kept by the applicant).   
7. Certificate of Language proficiency: Certificate of English (IELTS or TOEFL) for English-taught programs(for Non-English Native speakers), Certificate of Chinese (HSK) for Chinese-taught programs.
8. Certificate of No Criminal Conviction.
9. Talents in art(sing or dance ) and sports are preferred, please submit relevant works photo or certificates.

Supplementary Provisions (Important)
1. Students are not permitted, in general, to apply to change their specialties or the duration of study as specified in the Admission Letter once they agree to accept the scholarship. 
2. If the applicants fail to register before the deadline for registration, their scholarship will not be reserved.

Q6. How can the applicant improve the probability of success?
A6: Applicant can look for a professor from Changchun University of Science and Technology, discuss with him about your study and research plan, if he accepts to be the supervisor，ask him to provide an acceptance letter. We will offer priority to the applicant who has the acceptance letter.

Q7. When will there be an admission result?
A7: At present, it is impossible to determine the final admission result time. However, according to the time of previous years, the nomination result of the university will be announced at the end of May, and the final approval result of China Scholarship Council will be announced at the end of June, so please be sure to fill in an email address where you can be reached when applying and wait patiently for the email notice. Normally, you were not nominated if you didn’t receive an nomination email after 31st, May.

2.申请人须登录“留学基金委来华留学网上报名系统”（登录http://www.csc.edu.cn/studyinchina/ 或http://www.campuschina.org 后，点击“网上报名学生入口”图标进入），网上填写申请信息并提交申请材料，在线提交并打印《中国政府奖学金申请表》（申请类型为B类，长春理工大学机构编号为：10186，填写时请注意）； 
3.学校审核申请材料后帅选出合格的考核人员，经考核（笔试或面试）后，确定预录取人员，预录取人员名单将公布在长春理工大学国际教育学院网站（http://sie.cust.edu.cn/）；
4.学生收到学校预录取通知后，将签好字的《中国政府奖学金申请表》扫描为PDF文件发送给学校招生工作人员；
5.学校将预录取人员报中国国家留学基金委审核；
6.中国国家留学基金委审核通过后，学校将《录取通知书》和《外国留学人员来华签证申请表》（JW201表）寄送申请者（约为6月底，以实际时间为准）。 
注：1.录取过程较长，请保持邮件通讯顺畅，耐心等候邮件通知。

4.来华学习和研究计划（不少于800字），用中文或英文书写； 
5.两名教授或副教授的推荐信，用中文或英文书写；

7.语言能力证明：如申请英语授课专业，非英语母语者需提供英语能力证明（雅思、托福等），如申请汉语授课专业，需提供汉语如HSK考试成绩证书。

附则（重要） 
1.奖学金获得者来华后原则上不得变更学习专业及学习期限。

1. This scholarship only supports master’s programs which are taught in English, include Mechanical Engineering, Computer &Application Technology, Information and Communication Engineering and Master of Business Administration.

2. The scholarship duration is 2 years, cannot be extended.

Scholarship Coverage

-a waiver of fee for registration, tuition, laboratory experiments, internship, and basic textbooks;

Cost of experiments or internships beyond the program curricular is at student’s own expense.
Cost of books or learning materials other than required basic textbooks is at student’s own expense.

-free on-campus dormitory accommodation;

-monthly living allowance: CNY 1,700;

-outpatient medical service and Comprehensive Medical Insurance and Protection Scheme for International Students in China.

3.CUST reviews the application documents, interview the fittest candidates, and sends the pre-admission notice.

4.After receiving the email or the internal message with a title of ‘Approved by school’, applicant must login in to the online application system, click ‘apply scholarship’, then choose ‘Jilin Provincial Government Scholarship’, download the application form and complete it, and upload it to online application system.

5.CUST reviews the application form , then offers the applicant official admission.
