Advantages of Preparatory program:

    Three direction choices: Business, science and engineering, humanities to link different bachelor degree programs.

? Clear target: To enhance students' academic basic skills, language applications, cultural adaptability and professional competitiveness

? System courses: The courses include basic Chinese, professional Chinese, culture and study skills, basic knowledge and expertise of different discipline.

? Studying for needs: Students with different language level can choose A, B or C path to start their study.

? Intensive and effective training: Path A (two semesters totally 34 weeks) has more than 1100 class hours, Path B or Path C (one semester totally 17 weeks) has more than 570 class hours. It is intensive and effective training.

Training objective of Preparatory program:

To enhance students' academic basic ability, language application skills, cultural adaptability.

Business direction:

It is a program for students to enter undergraduate business programs (Including economics, business administration, finance, accounting, etc. ). After the program, students should master intermediate and senior generally used Chinese vocabularies and business major vocabularies, have good Business Chinese reading, writing, expression and application ability. Students can understand and apply mathematical knowledge in Chinese and have a basic knowledge of undergraduate junior in business and economic field.

Science and engineering direction:

It is a program for students to enter undergraduate Science and engineering programs (Including chemical engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering, communication engineering, computer, etc. ). After the program, students should master intermediate and senior generally used Chinese vocabularies and science and engineering major vocabularies, have good Science and Engineering Chinese reading, writing, expression, application ability. Students can understand and apply mathematical knowledge in Chinese and have a basic knowledge of undergraduate junior in computer field.

Humanities direction:

It is a program for students to enter undergraduate Humanities programs (Including literature, advertising, law, sociology, etc. ). After the program, students should master senior generally used Chinese vocabularies and Linguistics major vocabularies, have good Chinese reading, writing, expression, application ability. Students will be more systematic understanding of the Grammatical Knowledge of Contemporary Chinese.

-be a qualified high school graduate

-received a complete basic education

-passed high school graduation examination, hold a high school diploma

To be eligible, applicants’ Chinese Language Level must be:

- not required for path A,

- HSK level 2 or 3 for path B

- HSK level 4 for path C

Preparatory program students who get grade A~D can enter relative undergraduate program, but who get grade E can’t. All Preparatory program students must obtain HSK 4 level with >250 score or HSK 5 level with >180 score before entering undergraduate program.

Bachelor programs can be chosen after preparatory; Tuition and Other Fees; Scholarship for Preparatory and Bachelor degree program

 

Application documents:

-Application form(It can be downloaded at http://ieec.cust.edu.cn/en/download/download?id=57).

-Photocopy of valid passport: With name, passport number & expiration date, and photo included.

-Passport photo: A recent passport-sized photo of the applicant.

-Notarized high school diploma (photocopy): Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.

-High school grade report.

-Copy of visa: Only for students who have already be in China.

Admission procedure:

1. CUST will send a pre-admission letter to applicant via email within 3 working days after application documents are received and if the application is approved .

2. After receiving pre-admission letter, applicant should pay a registration fee of 400RMB and a seat-reservation fee of 3000RMB to CUST as soon as possible. (The seat-reservation fee is for earnest purpose, will be counted as the same amount of tuition fee or dormitory fee if the applicant registers on time, no refund if the applicant don’t register).

3. After receiving the seat-reservation fee, CUST will post the Admission Letter and Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW202) to applicant within 10 working days.
