The Scholarship for English-taught Master ( Partial Scholarship)

The Scholarship for International students from Changchun University of Science and Technology is a scholarship established by Changchun University of Science and Technology(CUST) to recruit outstanding international students for master degree programs are taught in English in CUST, China.

Program Categories, Duration and Language of Instruction
a. This scholarship only supports master’s programs are taught in English, include:
- Computer Application Technology
- Mechanical Engineering
- Master of Business Administration
- Information and Communication Engineering
b. Programs are taught in English. (Specific information is available at http://www.csc.edu.cn/Laihua/universitynewsen.aspx?collegeId=177 or http://sie.cust.edu.cn/ )
c. The scholarship duration is two years, cannot be extended.

Scholarship Coverage
-a waiver of half-tuition fee for the first year and tuition fee for the second year. So the actual payment of tuition after scholarship deduction is shown as follows:

Application Deadline

Deadline of Applicants is December 20th for Spring intake, and  May 31st for Autumn intake.

Eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must:
-be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, and be in good health;
-be a bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for master’s programs;
-have competitive academic records: Average academic achievement score must be 70% above of full mark;
-obtain IELTS 5.5. Minimum score for TOEFL (IBT) is 80, or any proof of English as working language during university study , except for English native speakers or applicant whose medium of instruction during undergraduate level was English.
-be not a holder of other Chinese scholarships.

Application Procedure
a. Apply online:
Please visit http://cust.apply.cucas.cn to apply,  choose ‘The "Belt and Road" Scholarship for Master’ in option of ‘Select program’ on ‘Select program’ page, choose ‘The "Belt and Road" Scholarship for Master’ in option of ‘study type’ on ‘Please Select Study Type’ page. Ten places for each major, admission based on merit is on a first come, first served basis until the quota is full.

Application Documents (in duplicate)
1. Application Form(in Chinese or English, please download it at http://cust.apply.cucas.cn/);
2.Photocopy of valid passport: With name, passport number & expiration date, and photo included.
3.Passport photo: A recent passport-sized photo of the applicant.
4.Notarized highest diploma (photocopy): Prospective diploma winners must submit official proof of student status by their current school. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.
5.Academic transcripts: Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.
6.A Study Plan or Research Proposal in Chinese or English (A minimum of 500 words ).
7.Two recommendation letters in Chinese or English issued by professors or associate professors.
8.Certificate of English proficiency, IELTS or TOEFL, only for Non-English Native speakers
9.Copy of visa: Only for students who have already be in China.
10.A copy of Physical Examination in English, at least six months (6) within its validity (if it is not available during the epidemic, a statement of personal responsibility shall be provided)
11.No criminal record(if it is not available during the epidemic, a statement of personal responsibility shall be provided)
12.A picture of the whole body in 3 months and a full-body video in 10 seconds
13.Talents in art and sports are preferred and corresponding proof or performance video are required.

Approval and Notification
1. CUST will send a pre-admission letter to applicant via email within 3 working days after application documents are received and if the application is approved .
2. After receiving pre-admission letter, applicant should pay a seat-reservation fee of 3000RMB to CUST as soon as possible. (The seat-reservation fee is for earnest purpose, will be counted as the same amount of tuition fee or dormitory fee if the applicant registers on time, no refund if the applicant don’t register).
3. After receiving the registration fee and the seat-reservation fee, CUST will post the Admission Letter and Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW202) to applicant within 15 working days.
d．Students are not permitted, in general, to apply to change their specialties or the duration of study as specified in the Admission Letter once they agree to accept the scholarship.
e. Registration time will be in beginning of March or September, exact date will be clearly demonstrated on Admission Letter.

Conditions of limits and Term of validity
a. The scholarship awardee should be in accordance with the time for check-in, registration and payment procedures, otherwise, the offer will be waived automatically. Drop out of school for no apparent reason, the students will not be able to receive the scholarship。
b. For management and safety purpose, the scholarship awardee should live in the school’s student dormitory, or the university will suspend or cancel the scholarship.
c. Scholarship awardees must be reviewed at the end of every school year for their academic performance, their attendance records, and their personal conduct. If the recipients of the Scholarship fail in a class, or miss class over 60 times (reasons include sick leave, personal leave and absenteeism), or fail to participate the examination, or cheat in the examinations, or have been imposed of a punishment of warning or above, they will not be able to receive the scholarship in the next year. The recipients passing the review shall continue to have their Scholarship in the next year..
d. Scholarships will be canceled for those who cannot pass the health examination.
