    The students of the major mainly study basic theory and methods of mathematics and applied mathematics, and receive the training of foreign language, mathematical modeling, computer technology and mathematical software. They should have a good scientific literacy, have the ability of applied mathematics knowledge to solve practical problems, data statistics and analysis and have the basic ability of scientific research. The graduates should acquire the following knowledge and abilities:
    1. The graduates should have a solid foundation of mathematical knowledge and good ability of mathematical thinking and have a good command of strategy and optimization, basic theory and methods of data collection and analysis;
    2. The graduates should have the preliminary ability of using the mathematical models and mathematical soft-wares to solve practical problems;
    3. The graduates should understand the history of mathematics science and some new development and applications of contemporary mathematics;
    4. The graduates should be able to skillfully use computer (including the common computer languages and mathematical soft-wares), and have the ability to write programs;
